Violent Video Online Prompts Investigation

The Melbourne police are on the lookout for a team of miscreants who beat up a 13 year old girl, as seen in a video clip on Photobucket.com. The video, which appears to be uploaded by an eyewitness, shows the victim fighting with another girl, but the situation becomes more volatile as two other girls come to assist in the attack against the victim. The audio in the clip suggests that the incident took place over a boy, and the victim was not seriously hurt in the assault.

The alleged victim came forward to file a complaint after 'Eyewitness News' aired the video, which has been circulating on the Internet since December 2006. She has now named her attackers and authorities plan to interview those suspects to determine if their stories match what the video revealed about the incident. The girls named, could face potential criminal charges from the attack.

The Police have not arrested anyone yet, but they plan to file assault and battery charges soon.
