Yahoo! Inc has tied up with Current TV, which introduced 'viewer created content' (VC2), to deliver video content on the Web. The service will feature videos created and submitted by users alongside professionally produced segments narrated by Yahoo! Current Network hosts. The Yahoo! Current Network currently offers four channels on Yahoo! Video that allow users to view and upload videos and participate in communities. The channels include Yahoo! Current Buzz, which is a daily feature, reflecting what the Yahoo! community is searching for, Yahoo! Current Action for action sports news and videos, Yahoo! Current Driver: for automobile enthusiasts and Yahoo! Current Traveler: which is a bulletin board of video postcards from travelers. Users can also personalize their experience by subscribing to channels, grouping videos related by source or topic and making videos viewable from their blogs or websites. Each channel will feature a daily selection of the best viewer created video submissions and professionally produced Buzz videos and the submitter will be $500 by Current TV. Other channels will be launching as part of the Yahoo! Current Network in the next few months, with eight individual channels available by the end of 2007. The Yahoo! Current Network content can be found here or by going to Yahoo.com and searching for 'Current.' Click here for more info on Yahoo! Current Network. |
