Microsoft Announces Xbox Live in India

After many hardships, disappointments and delays, Microsoft India is all set to dole out the Xbox Live officially on the fifth of November, in time for Diwali.

Indian users can now log into Xbox LIVE not just to game but also to get their daily dose of entertainment with exclusive Indian content! Trailers of Hanuman Returns and content from the UTV stable of films will be on Xbox LIVE. Also available will be content related to Love Story 2050 starring Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja – one of the most awaited movies of the year!

Microsoft has also tied up with Seventymm – a leading name in the movie rentals category for the unique rent-a-game service; ;a first-of-its-kind initiative which will enable gamers to rent "on demand" the latest Xbox 360 games for a fixed number of days.

The Xbox LIVE service will be available to users to log on and sample for free with the Silver subscription level and a paid Gold membership to offer the best in gaming and entertainment to consumers who want a heightened entertainment experience. On the occasion of the launch of Xbox LIVE, Microsoft also announces a number of new trendy accessories to complete the entertainment experience – Xbox Live Vision camera, Xbox 360 Wireless and Wired Headset, Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter, and Xbox 360 Text input device to name a few!

While all this sounds pretty cool, we’re still in the dark as far as prices are concerned. But we’re hoping to get that sorted out soon, so stay tuned for more information.
