Ubisoft Unveils New Game for 360 - Beowulf

At their event held in Paris (called Ubiday), Ubisoft announced that they'll be publishing a new action/adventure title – Beowulf. The game will be based on the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film, which is due for a November 2007 release. For those of you who don’t know about the legacy of Beowulf, here’s some info on it (courtesy Wikipedia): Beowulf is an Old English heroic epic poem composed in the later Early Middle Ages (in the 8th, 9th or 10th century). At 3,183 lines, it is notable for its length. The poem is untitled in the manuscript, but has been known as Beowulf since the early 19th century. In the poem, Beowulf, a hero of a Germanic tribe, battles three antagonists: Grendel, who is destroying Heorot and its inhabitants in Denmark, Grendel's Mother, and later in life (after he is King) a dragon. He is mortally wounded in the final battle, and after his death is buried in a barrow by his retainers. I know that the description sounds kinda lame, but being a Ubisoft title, the game will at least be worth a play. [Via HEXUS.gaming] |
