Creative Zen Vision:W

Audio Creativity
Music file can also be easily transferred using the Media Explorer software and just like the Vision:M, they can be sorted according to the folders you’ve selected them from. The good thing is that playlists can be created from the PC as well as directly in the player itself. Files can also be deleted from the player as well.

With regards to the output, I have to say, it may be loud I’ll admit that, but the earphones provided with the W, unfortunately can’t handle the full volume of the player too well. As a set the player and earphones work really well, you can walk around any one of the number of fish markets in the city and quite comfortably listen to your music with minimal disturbance. It’s just at full volume that the music tends to get a wee bit distorted. The W has 8 EQ presets and a 5 band graphic EQ to manually adjust (can’t go wrong with manual settings). But what I like most about the Creative players is the Smart Volume feature that actually helps make the whole experience a lot better. It also helps reduce the light distortion when the volume is peaked. Other than that there’s also the Bass Boost option for a bit of hard hitting Thumps if you prefer it that way.

The onboard speaker is not too loud so it’s not much help really. Here’s something interesting though. Like the Cowon A2, you can plug a second set of earphones into the AV out socket and two people can listen in at the same time. Of course you’ll be scrolling blind due to the fact that when anything is plugged into the AV out the screen goes off. My suggestion is get yourself a really good set of earphones and you will enjoy the experience.

The W also has an integrated FM radio which I found actually works pretty well even while commuting in the city. The Vision:W is also equipped with a microphone for voice recordings.
