While most of you may be following the WWE religiously, only a handful may have actually heard of the UFC. For the uninitiated, allow me to elaborate. The UFC AKA the Ultimate Fighting Championship is a brutal sport that’s taking the world - or at least the Western world - by storm. There’s an extremely detailed tutorial at the start that I strongly suggest you undertake or you’ll find yourself hitting the mat very soon and very often. The tutorial itself is pretty daunting and the information being thrown at you can seem a bit overwhelming which leads me to believe that the game has been strictly tailor made for UFC fans. WWE players will get their ass handed to them if they treat this game like another Smackdown VS. Raw title. The thing is UFC (both the sport and the game) can be broken up into two parts. You have your vertical fighting, that basically involves both players duking it out like a regular fighting game on two feet. And then you have the horizontal mechanic that kicks in as and when you take an opponent down and umm... mount him. |
