Smart Capture is a pretty good technology as long as you have enough light to support it, but low light seems to be its kryptonite. The good thing is that you always have an option to use the scene modes instead, and that works like a charm. So eventually the new technology may not have changed my opinion about using scene modes over auto, but it sure has reduced my bias against it. And that's saying a lot. As for the battery, it will easily last you for over 75 shots of mixed usage (with and without flash). Overall the Kodak V1273 is an excellent camera and a pretty good deal for Rs 15,999.
