But like I was saying earlier, there is a small amount of fun to be had in the game since you have a weird variety of events to chose from some of which are old like Sprint, Circuit etc. while some are brand new to this series like Cop Take-Out, Cost to State and Escape. There are some killer cop chases scattered throughout the game reminiscent to Most Wanted that become pretty intense toward the end. Highway battles are pretty cool as well and have players going one on one against opponents across a crowded highway while dodging and weaving through some heavy traffic. Sadly all the game’s technical flaws do not allow you to derive any sort of entertainment from this game. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this game to anyone but if you’re a masochist and love torturing yourself (while spending your hard earned dough) I suggest you go in for the Xbox360 version since that’s the most bearable of the lot. EA has royally given PC gamers the shaft with one of the sloppiest and crappiest PC ports I’ve seen in a while now and even though I’ve not played the PS3 version, I’ve seen in it action and it is appalling. If EA had spent some more time polishing the game, we may have had something really cool but as it stands Need for Speed Undercover is a horrible mess of a game and should be avoided at all costs. |
