Sennheiser MX W1 Wireless Headphones

06 Nov, 2008, 10:34 am IST | by Laiq Qureshi | Headphones Headphones

I have lost quite a few headphones in Mumbai's crowded trains. Whenever I've been foolish enough to attempt getting in while listening to music, the cable's been pulled out by the surge of people. In such circumstances I've wondered if there’s a wireless solution to my problem. Sennheiser’s MX W1 seems to be one, though I don’t see how I can possibly get a pair without forfeiting a month’s salary.

The MX W1 does seem a good option for those looking at buying a wireless pair. You could be cooking, washing your car, or simply sitting and enjoying the convenience and brilliance offered by the MX W1. It comes with a transmitter, charger (with four different types of charging sockets) and other paraphernalia like a fabric strap to attach the transmitter to your music player, and a leather carry case.

A good design is what you can trust Sennheiser with, and a compact size is an added bonus. Both the earphones are pretty small, and have nothing but the button to make the connection with the transmitter. However, the earphones and the transmitter come paired on delivery.

You get a docking station with the package, which holds the earphones and has the capacity to charge the earphones fully up to three times without connecting to the mains. It takes about two hours to charge the device fully, so you can carry it when you travel as well.

Would you buy it?
