The Avantalk Jogger A2DP Bluetooth Headset

When I first took this A2DP headset out of its box, I thought it looked pretty cool; and since it's as light as a feather, it thought this might just be a good value for money product. But when I actually started using it, I figured out how wrong I was. Read on to be a part of my pain and suffering.

Design and Features: 
The Avantalk Jogger is a really light, compact headset that is made from water resistant material. It is obviously aimed at people who can't get enough of their music and like to receive calls during their exercise routines. The headset comes with rubber attachments that you have to literally shove into your ears (provided you don't lose those attachments first). One would think that something so light (23 grams) would also be comfortable, but I guess the buck stops there, as I've had ear examinations that felt better than this.

It has all the features that your average A2DP headset has such as audio controls to change tracks, volume control and a multifunction button for answering, ending or rejecting calls (hold down for 3 seconds) as well as pairing the headset with your Bluetooth enabled device. It can also be used for gaming, voice chat and VoIP (MSN, Skype etc). I'll have to admit that the functions are pretty easy to use.

Performance:
When it comes to music, the Avantalk Jogger is just above average. Because it is so light, the drivers used for the audio do not have enough power to give you a complete aural experience, but I guess it's decent enough to have on while working out. The one good thing about the jogger is that they'll almost never fall off your head. But maybe that's because you have to literally jam them into your ears in the first place. 

As for voice quality where phone calls are concerned, I was surprised at how clear the other person's voice was at the other end of the line. But then I realized that he couldn't really hear what I was saying. So that's another one added to the list of 'fails' on this list. Even the battery life didn't live up to the mark and the device died a couple of hours before the company specified 9 hours.

Verdict
Sure it's water and sweat resistant, and it'll almost never fall off your head while you're out jogging, but the Avantalk Jogger is one headset I'd never recommend anyone to buy. It's uncomfortable, has just about average audio, and the microphone is rubbish because people on the other end of the line can barely hear what you are saying. Even if the price seems reasonable at Rs. 2,750 it's still not one you should consider.
