Performance We first put in a Blu-ray demo disc and checked out montages for a while, which led us to some conclusions. The load times are faster than the Sony, though still slightly slow compared to DVD players. I would say it takes about 30 seconds to load an image from drive insertion. On the other hand, menu response and remote operation are very prompt, and setup too was quite easy. We went to video settings and checked 1080p, and we were good to go. Spiderman 3 went in next, and this treated us to some high quality AV performance. The colors were striking, and the accuracy in the frames and details between objects were very good. Jaggies and moiré patterns were much lower than expected. I crosschecked it with the PS3, and the LG actually had a bit more depth and detail. Motion sequences also were amazing; though not noticeably better than the other players I have seen. |
