Onkyo TX-SR575 AV Receiver

30 Oct, 2008, 5:47 pm IST | Siddharth Bhatia | Home Theatre Systems Home Theatre Systems

Most of the specs are proprietary, like WRAT, which delivers a broad frequency range with less noise. There is the famous Audyssey 2EQ room calibration system, which "corrects problems both in frequency response and in the time domain (where most of the problems lie), across the entire listening area".

Other notable features are Cinemafilter, which processes movie soundtracks in the right way, and analog video upconversion. It’s got individual crossover control for the speakers, along with EQ control and time delay settings, allowing the user to dial in a particular EQ. With 192kHz/24 Bit DACs, 80W RMS power is delivered to the 8 ohm speakers. The frequency response is 5 Hz - 100 kHz. Please see the table below for complete specs and features.

Connectivity-wise, the important thing is that there are 2 HDMI-ins and one HDMI-out (for pass-thru) with two digital audio-ins. There is no 5.1 analog output, nor any digital audio output. It’s not as if these are very important; but they deserve a mention. There are connections for XM and Sirius Satellite radio, though that doesn’t concern us as these models are not available in India. There are Speaker B outputs though.
