Samsung HT-TX715T Home Theater System

All the big TV brands like Samsung and LG also have some swanky Home Theaters to go along with their shiny HDTVs. These product series seem to be high on style, and also sport a considerable price tag, thus it was time to get one of them in and see how they could deliver. We have here, the Samsung HT-TX175, a recent release in the Home Theater category.

Design and Features
We are dealing with a multi channel surround sound system, thus the package comes with a central source player and a total of 6 speakers including a subwoofer. There are 4 tallboy designed speakers, extremely sleek and slim, balancing somehow on an oval stand. The joint here is very wobbly and loose, and the speakers can easily topple over. All the components are very lightweight, so it's easy to connect and lug around, though build quality I’m afraid is not the best out there.

The actual looks of the system are totally different though, it’s very good. All the surfaces have the signature Touch of Colour red tinge that is proprietary Samsung, something I truly appreciate as a design aspect. The deep red hues are only visible in yellow ambience, ad make the system exude class.

The shape of the subwoofer is one of a narrow faade; also the player is very unorthodox in shape. It stands up vertically rather than as a normal rack mount unit. The DVD slot is on top, and the disc goes in smoothly way. Buttons are flush mounted though the labels of Play, Forward etc are contoured, so you can navigate in the dark.

Speaker wires supplied are a thin high gauge set of 6 color coded ones, with accordingly longer ones for Surround towers. The HT-TX715 can be set up wirelessly, though the wireless kit is sold separately, our unit is wireless ready for future upgrading. The unit has an output of 800 Watts RMS, video upscales to 1080p, and plays formats like DivX , MP3, WMV, DVD-Audio besides regular DVDs and rewritable DVDs. It also has an HDMI output (wire supplied) and a USB input. And last but not least, it supports A2DP Bluetooth for phone connectivity.
