Mitashi Divio M20LW 19" LCD TV

28 Feb, 2007, 11:39 am IST | by Gagan Gupta | LCD LCD

Flat panel displays really get people excited, don't they? There will be a 29 inch CRT TV that's giving you this awesome black levels and colors and good booming sound, but you'll still look at the stupid 20 inch LCD TV next to it and consider it a better deal at almost double the price. Flat panel displays have this sexy thing about them that gets it up for us, even if they make absolutely no sense with the setup we may have at home... and the manufacturers know that.

Enter the Mitashi Divio 19" widescreen LCD TV that's very confused about what it's really meant to do and where it belongs. But before I get there, I'll start from the basics, like how it looks and what it's really supposed to do.

Out of the box, the Divio doesn't look too bad, in fact it looks bigger than a standard 19 inch screen thanks to its fat borders. The speakers make up the bottom part of the frame, and the rest of the frame is left uncluttered, except for the little remote control receiver in the bottom right.

The top part of the back of the unit has all the buttons for TV functionality, but you really wouldn't have to bother doing that with the handy little remote around.

The back of the panel also has all the inputs, which are surprisingly few considering the displays native resolution. It has the RF in for antenna and a single set of composite in for your DVD player, digital cable service or any other video device and a VGA input for connecting your PC.
