Panasonic TH-L32X15D LCD TV

It’s been a while since we did a solo Panasonic  Viera review. Recently our focus has been on the 100 Hz motion plus technology, thus we decided to start out with Panasonic, due to their rock solid reputation amongst enthusiasts. We have a 32-inchmodel from their X series, called the TH-L32X15, replete with the 100 Hz feature and IPS panel. It’s from their higher end range, one below the flagship, so let’s check it out.

Design and Features
This model looks nothing out of the ordinary, with a gloss black finish for the bezel, and a single metallic streak running along the bottom panel. The edges of the frame are minutely curved though, thus eluding that blockish hard edged look. The oval stand is also similarly adorned in gloss black. The Panasonic logo rests calmly at the usual place of bottom panel center, along with a bunch logos printed on the right extremity of AVCHD, HDMI etc.

The back panel houses the connections in a rectangular window positioned on the right end, with the regular bouquet of connectivity available these days: 3 HDMis, 3 composite, 1 S-Video, 2 Component video, 2 sets of RCA audio ins and outs (including one headphone out) and last but not least, a mini D-sub PC input. There is no USB slot, but an SD card cave, to view jpeg images. This could be a weak hand for this model.     

The main features available in this TV are the 100 Hz Motion Picture Pro, and a more rigid LCD panel technology called IPS alpha. LG also has IPS panels, but Panasonic gets credit for having it before them. One iffy is that the panel is not a Full HD one that is reserved for a higher class model and snootier in price. Thus we have a resolution of 1366 x 768. Contrast ratio is 20,000:1, while response time and brightness is not mentioned.
