The market for smaller sized televisions is pretty vast and many manufacturers have their own iterations of the product. The main target audiences for these televisions are those who are looking for a second TV or those with smaller houses and want a television that will suit the dimensions of their place. The only deciding factor while purchasing these sort of 24-inch LED TVs is the price. Lloyd has launched the LED24S, a 24-inch LED TV that boasts of some interesting specifications at a relatively affordable price. We recently saw the Lloyd 3DLED55 and it fared quite well in most departments. Let’s see how the smaller sized television does and if it is worth a purchase or not.

Design and Build Quality
The LED24S has an all black finish making it similar in looks to most of the other LED televisions available in the market. The front panel has a glossy black finish and the bezel surrounding the display is approximately 1-inch thick. The speakers are located below the bottom of the lower bezel and it has a black mesh design. A neat design feature of this television is that the controls, which are located on the left bezel are touch sensitive. The touch sensitive buttons add a touch of class to the television and reduces clutter on the face of it.

The back panel is made of plastic and has vents, which help in reducing the heat of this 24-inch LED LCD TV. Connectivity options are located on the side as well as at the back. The advantage of placing it at the side is that one can easily attach other devices, such as a Blu-ray player or a monitor to it. The ports featured on the side are a 3.5mm audio jack, an HDMI port, and composite ports. On the back of the television are ports such as a VGA, composite, component, VGA audio in and a connector for an antenna.

Bundled up with the television are wall brackets allowing one to attach the TV on a wall as well. The stand is pretty sturdy as well and like the rest of the TV it is made of plastic, too. There is no wobble noticed when the TV is placed on the stand. The remote control that comes along with the TV is made of plastic and it feels a little cheap when compared to the controllers that come along with more reputed brands. The spacing of the buttons of it is pretty good, though and one can easily change channels or navigate through the different options without accidentally pressing another button. Summing up the design and build quality, apart from the remote control, this is a pretty stylish television and is pretty sturdy as well.

Features
For a television priced at this amount, it has quite a few interesting features. The fact that it is an LED television is a big plus point as LED LCD televisions are slowly phasing out standard LCD televisions. The size of the display is 24-inches diagonally and full HD 1080p playback is supported on it. When a video is being played at this resolution, it gets denoted on a small area at the top right hand side of the TV.

The interface of this television is pretty simple and appears in the form of a simple settings window. This allows one to tweak the various settings such as contrast, brightness, colour, etc. Apart from this the on screen display also features the ability to adjust the sound, OSD, functions and channel. One can easily navigate through the settings within a matter of minutes because of its simple layout. Lloyd claims that this television boasts of a contrast ratio of 1000000:1. The ability to connect to a PC via the VGA port or HDMI port is another interesting feature of this entry level LED TV.

The thing we missed in this television was the lack of a USB port. This reduces connectivity options to quite an extent as most of one’s data is now usually stored on a USB flash drive. That being said we can’t complain too much given the cost of this product. Overall, the features of the LED24S are pretty good for its price.
