Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS

Performance
As you can see from the pictures in the article, the Z1015 IS offers brilliant color reproduction. While the reproduction is the most natural, its rather consumer friendly since it has a vibrant 'happy' feel to it. Plus, the auto white balance is quite accurate, so image reproduction over all is impressive.

The down side is that detailing at full resolution (10 MP) is too smudged, making it unusable for large prints. For smaller images though, the sharpness isn't too bad, making this camera ideal for web usage.

Shot with ISO 6400

Another negating factor is that it takes a long 3.5 seconds from power-up to shot, which is undeniably slow. The shutter lag is minimal and the delay between shots in burst mode is about 1 second, which while good, isn't anything to write home about.

Conclusion
While the Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS does have a few notable drawbacks, it makes for a rather feature rich package. With features that exceed the price range, it's certainly a good buy for beginners who wish to climb the ladder into amateur photography. If you expect good performance at full 10 megapixel resolution, I suggest you reconsider. For anything other than that, the camera's a good buy.
