MBM Mobile 2138i

Connectivity
Oh did I mention, there's no Bluetooth, Infra Red, WAP, GPRS. What the (beep)?! So I guess there's really nothing to talk about with regard to connectivity. It does have a bit of a problem with getting network in certain areas as well.

Battery
While opening the rear seal to insert my SIM card, the battery shape reminded me of a Nokia battery. I had to try this out. I took the battery out of my 6270 and swapped it with the MBM battery. Surprise, surprise! It worked just fine! The battery did have the MBM logo all over it. Anyway, this means, if you need a replacement battery, you can use any Nokia battery with this phone. And will wonders never cease? It can even use a Nokia charger to recharge the phone! So at least we know there wont be problem with battery life. Or so I thought. I hardly had a chance to use it thoroughly before the battery started dying on me.

Bottom Line
The MBM 2138i doesn't have Bluetooth, nor WAP and you would need to spend at least another Rs. 700 - 900 for for a decent sized memory card for enough space to listen to your music. And don't forget another few hundred Rupees for a better set of headphones. So you'd ultimately end up shelling out at least another Rs. 1,500 on this mobile. Though the phone is being marketed as an entry-level music phone, with a price tag of Rs. 3,500—I'm going to have to say, the bottom line is, it ain't worth the price.
