Megaaudio is traditionally known for its high impact card audio and video systems around the world. Not that we had heard of them before, but a random Google search yielded some much appreciated dope on the company. There was no mention, however, of their action in the portable media player market. Anyway, we managed to get the MAI-102 Sport MP3 headphones, complete with Megaaudio leaflet and branding, for review this week. Looking at the pair, I wouldn’t judge them as 'cheap Chinese stuff', because indeed they look pretty wearable. It’s a 1GB MP3 player contained with the headphones itself – with no strings attached, literally! A neat foldable design allows you to stow it away with ease. The best thing, as I said, is that you don’t have to deal a tangle of wires. Me like! It weighs about 52g, which isn’t that much, but you will realize you can’t keep them on for long durations. This is one problem with headphones that go round the head and over the ears – this way the weight of the headphones is borne by the ear alone. |
