Other Entertainment applications available are a video player that reads 3GP MPEG4, H.263 file formats, a voice recorder with decent range and Sony’s TrackID for music identification via an online search though a database. TrackID can be activated for getting a track’s data from either the integrated FM radio or independently by recording a clip from a track playing through speakers. The FM radio fared quite well for reception even while commuting so no issues here. There’s no auto Tune and Save option so you’ll have to manually set the stations and save them. There’s no option for recording from the radio. The Music player provided clear tones at a decent decibel level through the bundled headset. Like all of the other SE players, even the ones not classified and branded a Walkman mobile; the F305 had EQ presets that included a manually customizable option using the 5 band graphic EQ. Stereo Widening was also present for a little better audio experience. You can also create playlists on the handset itself. Acceptable formats include - MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, MP4 and AMR. The stereo speakers provide for a loud effect while gaming and averagely clear tones while taking calls on speaker phone or listening to music. No issues here either, so it’s safe to say it the F305 fared quite well in the entertainment section. Camera The F305’s 2 megapixel camera (1600 x 1200 pixels max) comes sans a flash of any kind. It has plenty of settings that include Night Mode, a timer, Burst mode, effects and White Balance options. It also has video recording capabilities. Sony Ericsson has also provided their PhotoFix application for ‘enhancing’ images, although all it really tends to do is increase the contrast level a bit. The image quality is not too shabby in normal conditions. There is a problem with the reds and other bright colors as it tends to give them very mosaic, pixelated look. |
