Connectivity Nowadays you have to take it for granted that a handset that is over the Rs. 4, 000 mark (and sometimes lower) comes with basic Bluetooth for file transferring and data back-up options or mono Bluetooth headset compatibility. The F305 comes with that and a little more since it has Bluetooth 2.0 that includes an A2DP profile for using a Stereo Bluetooth headset. USB 2.0 for file transfer is also available and of course WAP 2.0 with HTML, XHTML support as well as GPRS/EDGE. You can also hook it up via USB to your PC to be used as a modem. Setting up your email account (IMAP/POP3/SMTP) could be quite a task if you don’t know the settings. In this case a set up wizard would have been extremely handy. You can call your service provider for assistance in case required. SE’s PLUS application is available for downloading and viewing additional content for your handset. The PlayNow application also allows you to connect to SE’s service to download media content like games, ringtones, music and themes. Battery Although the company claims that the F305 can provide up to 8 hours talk time, it doesn’t. On our testing it gave us a total of about 3 hours and 25 minutes but with average use you’ll get about and day and half of usage out of it. You’ll have to turn off all the extravagant functions like animated screen savers and themes, key tones etc., to get a little more out of it. This is not too bad though. The Bottom Line With a smooth interface loaded with transition effects; a well designed smooth slider form factor; plenty of games to entertain and a pretty good offering for audio, video and radio; a decent 2MP camera and GPRS/EDGE thrown in, the F305 is a good option in the mid-range segment. Priced at Rs. 8,990 it’s definitely worth a consideration, though they could have thrown in a 1GB card instead of a 512MB one. Specs
