Antec, one of the largest manufacturers of high quality gaming PC cases introduces the One Hundred, which is definitely not going to burn a hole in your wallet. With the number of gaming enthusiasts slowly increasing, demand for such cases is higher than ever before.

Features and Design

The case has a plain Jane appearance sans any fancy lights, whatsoever. But, it sports a jet black shell with a powder-finished body, which looks pretty decent. The front panel or the bezel has just the company logo and has enough room to accommodate upto three optical drives, six 3.5-inch hard drives and one 2.5-inch hard drive (bottom-mounted bay). The front panel’s bay covers are made of metal grille/mesh and the lower half of the bezel doubles as air intake vents for additional cooling for the internal components and hard drives by installing two optional cooling fans.

The top of the case also features a plastic tray for conveniently resting or placing portable storage drives or pen drives. The top also features the power button, LED indicators for HDD and Power, four USB ports and front-audio connectors, all placed at a 45 degree angle for easy access when placed either under the desk or on the desktop.

The internals of the cabinet have a powder-finished paint job with smoothened edges for safe hardware component installation and future repairs. The cabinet is also slightly heavy and tends to add another 7 kgs to your existing rig weight. Provisions for cable routing behind the motherboard (via the chassis) makes the internal area not only look neater, but also does not obstruct the airflow within. As usual with most gaming PC cases, the One Hundred too, has provisions for the power supply unit (not included with the case) at the bottom. Exit routes for the liquid cooling pipes are also provided at the lower end. Sadly, the only disappointment we found with this PC case is that the rear PC card expansion slot tabs need to be broken away to install any expansion card.

Blocking plates are not provided with the case to fill up the slot if the expansion card is removed or if you have accidentally broken any of the tabs. The internal components are kept cool by two fans (a 140 mm fan on the top and a 120 mm fan on the rear) bundled with the cabinet. These are PWM fans, which include a speed switch each at the rear panel for easy switching between high or low RPM when in gaming or normal PC operating modes. Optional 120 mm fans can be installed for additional cooling requirements (one for the graphics card and two for the hard drives).

Verdict

Priced at just Rs. 3,300, the Antec One Hundred is an excellent choice for those looking for a good quality gaming case on a substantially lower budget. The case has a simple and elegant look, but sadly, it lacks those fancy lights.
