Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2

22 May, 2008, 2:09 pm IST | by Avinash Bali | PC PC

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is one tricky customer. On the one hand it doesn't feel like a full-fledged sequel (and is actually a step down from Rainbow Six Vegas in certain aspects) but on the other hand it packs in tons of content to make sure you'll be hooked on to this game for hours on end. As a shooter it’s a solid game and if you enjoyed Vegas you should definitely pick this one up. If you're looking for a radically different experience, kindly spend your hard-earned dough elsewhere.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 puts players in the boots of a Rainbow Six veteran called Bishop, and as usual Vegas is under attack from terrorist scum, so it's up to you and your team to clean up the mess. Unlike the first game that mainly took place at night, Vegas 2 takes place in broad daylight and explores some seedier locations. Other than the highly clichéd plot the gameplay is nearly identical to Vegas. Assess a particular situation using your snake came, use your teammates to flank the enemy, and take them down before they can harm any hostages. Newly added is the ability to sprint for short distances – extremely useful for escaping them pesky grenades.

Perhaps the major addition to this series is the A.C.E.S. system (short for Advanced Combat Enhancement and Specialization) that now allows you to track stats and gather experience during single player as well (in Vegas this was possible only in MP). Experience earned here can be used to deck out your character in any way you see fit.
