iriver S10

One of the things you will wonder while buying the S10 (apart from how good is the performance) would be what good is the weirdly shaped package it comes in? After all it does look just as obscene to some and just as clever to many who have come across this. The point is that iriver does seem to be confident in dishing out products.

Design
I must say that iriver has done a real good job with the S10. It doesn’t only look tiny, but also accommodates a lot of style. At first, it may look like an ordinary square piece of shiny plastic (nothing repulsive about it). But when it comes on, you will find every inhibition of yours dwindling away.

What’s innovative about the S10 would be the D-click system. There are no dedicated buttons; instead, the screen itself works as a four-way navigational pad, and also doubles as the function keys. This helps in reducing the size of the player, and in giving it more points for style.

Apart from this, the entire body is bare, save for the Power button on the left and the volume keys on the right. The Lanyard Earphones bundled with the player are a class in itself too. To begin with, let me tell you that the player isn’t meant to be shoved deep into your pocket. Instead, you will need to wear it round your neck like a pendant. And trust me you will not shy away from doing that.

The earphones’ jack accommodates a clip mechanism, wherein it attaches itself tightly to the player. This allows it to hang comfortably round your neck. The compact size helps in carrying it around without any problems. The strap can be unscrewed and taken off for a slight increase in length.

Would you buy it?
