Creative Zen Vision:M

Misc. Features
What I found a bit odd is the Alarm function that the Vision:M has. If it doesn’t have an external speaker what good is an alarm? I'm willing to concede that it would come in handy while you’re plugged in to the player but if not... well what can I say. It’s as negated as Spiderman with a red cape.

Another feature that initially put me off is that the player doesn’t show up as a portable hard drive until you install the software. Then you should see the Creative Vision:M drive. Unfortunately it doesn’t show up all the time and on all PCs. But luckily you have me to explain the plus side for you so you won’t get all bent out of shape. The Vision:M has a separate option of partitioning the drive to be used for data storage. Capacity can be set as little as 512Mb up to 8GB. All you need do is simple select the "Removable Disk" option and voila, a separate space for storing your random data.

The player does also allow you to delete files directly from the device. The silly thing is that you have to carry around that little adapter and USB cable with you everywhere in case you need to hook it up to the PC or charge the player. Now apparently you can password protect your files on the player, but for the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. I tried looking for quite a while but all any site kept saying is – Yes it can be done, but it never says how.

Battery
I know the website says "Up to 6 hours of video" but realistically it was just around 4 hours at best. But oddly enough where it lacked in videos it made up in music with a good 17 hours. So on the whole the battery is better than just "good". It’s pretty darn good! So don’t worry all you travelers/commuters, you’ll be well covered.

Conclusion
The Vision:M, though it has a few small kinks is still a good deal. Priced at approximately Rs. 14,000, for great video, music and Image quality, the Bottom Line, I'd have to say, is it's worth it! Excuse me while I go out and get mine.
