Samsung YP-T10

Other Features

As with most media players, the T10 has a JPEG viewer. You can view thumbnails and slideshows, set a transition speed, and even rotate images and use them as skins. You can also save and view DataCasts and .TXT files if you’re into eBooks. The typeface, point size and font color can be adjusted to suit your preferences.

What the T10 lacks, sadly, are inbuilt games. Not that what it already had isn’t enough, but why not an added extra? It also lacks a world clock and alarm function, but since there are no external speakers that’s okay – I don’t believe there are too many of us who sleep with our earphones on. It reads the following file formats: WMV, SVI, JPEG, MP3, WMA, OGG, TXT.

I’ve always wanted a player with Bluetooth, and Samsung has delivered in spades. The S5 had it too, but for some reason it didn’t allow me to send files from the device; or connect to my cellphone and take calls. The T10 does it all. I was able to send and receive files easily, and A2DP ensured a handsfree experience.

I expected the battery to last over 15 hours, but I was overoptimistic. All I got was 13.5 hours of nonstop music and about 3 hours of video, which is about one movie and one episode of a half-hour TV show. That’s not bad at all, but still...

The Bottomline
The YP-T10 is a great player. It looks good, sounds good, and delivers almost flawlessly. It offers great features to boot. It's available in three models: 2GB (Rs 6,600), 4GB (Rs 7,900) and 8GB (Rs 9,900). At those prices I think the device is worth it, especially since it has Bluetooth – a brilliant feature to have in a PMP.
