Features All you mega pixel cravers will find solace in knowing that the S50 features a 7.2 MP sensor. The performance and the bona fide use of this, however, we’ll talk about in the performance section. Furthermore, to add more value to the ultra-compact form factor the camera’s 3x zoom lens move internally. This it does with the zoom Nikkor lens that offers a range of 6.3-18.9mm with an optical Vibration Reduction (VR) technology that prevents light quivers from producing blurry pictures. The focal length range of the lens is 38 to 114mm. One of the most likeable features of the camera is the 3-inch large LCD screen that makes using the camera a pleasure. It can display up to 230,000 pixels and is very comfortable to use even in broad daylight. The list doesn’t end here though. The BSS (Best Shot Selector, that is) deserves a mention, as it is one of many useful features the S50 comes bundled with. What the camera really does is clicks ten sequential shots and saves the sharpest image amongst the lot. You would want to use this in low light conditions when your pictures are more susceptible to blurs and shakes. In scene mode you will find the following options to choose from: Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night Portrait, Party/Indoor, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Dusk/Dawn, Night Landscape, Close up, Museum, Fireworks Show, Copy, Back Light and Panorama Assist. |
