inFamous

Meet Cole McGrath, a citizen of Empire City who’s skilled in the art of urban exploration or Le Parkour as it’s more commonly known as. His love for urban exploration lands him with a courier gig – or so we presume - and during one of his delivery runs, the package he’s transporting explodes destroying half of his beloved city in the process. By some weird miracle Cole does not die from that explosion. Instead he wakes up with electric super powers and no memory of the fateful day that changes his life forever. Enter developer Sucker Punch’s latest PS3 exclusive, inFamous.__STARTQUOTE__Anytime Cole comes across a live wire or railway tracks he can merely jump and grind on them for miles on end.__ENDQUOTE__In case you haven’t been following this game, allow me to break some knowledge on ya; electricity is the name of the game in this umm game. You can’t wield weapons nor can you drive any cars yet you can explore the entire city at ease. That’s partly because of your parkour skills I mentioned earlier but also because developer Sucker Punch have devised an awesome way to travel in this game. Anytime Cole comes across a live wire or railway tracks he can merely jump and grind on them for miles on end. This ability can only be used on wires and tracks that have an electric surge running through them so restoring electricity to a particular area should be your first priority. Of course you don’t start off the game with this ability; you’ll have to unlock it the way you’ll unlock all of his abilities.

After the explosion, most of Empire City is without electricity and since that very same element now courses through your veins, it’s up to you to head down into the sewers and successfully power all the dormant generators in there. Every time you successfully restore power to a particular area you’ll be rewarded with a special ability. Once unlocked, most of these abilities can be upgraded with the XP (experience) points you earn through the game be it by killing enemies, helping people or just playing through the campaign.
