BlackBerry Curve 8900 Mobile Phone

Camera
The 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera was great. It loads quickly and the reproduction of images and colors is really quite good. The settings are limited to just White Balance, Geotagging and a few color effects.

But we were impressed with the pictures. Even in low light conditions the images did look pretty good. The large display will allow you to show off your pictures on the device and they obviously look so much better there.

Even close ups managed to look good.

Battery Life
We had a lot of fun using the handset, so much so that in the process of use and testing we realized that the battery life was really better tan just average. With calling, checking mails a little browsing and chatting and even media, the battery easily ran for about 2 days. We’re not talking about excessive usage of each feature but we more of an average that we comes from two people using it for a few days. Talk time averaged out at about 4 hours give or take a few minutes and that’s really something.

The Bottom Line
If this handset was priced anywhere between Rs. 22,000 - Rs. 25,000, we would have recommended it but during recession times, a handset which priced at Rs. 27, 990 (MRP) really burns the pocket. Nevertheless it’s a really great phone with plenty to offer the business user who likes a little play in life as the 8900 is as capable in the media department as it is in the work and connectivity end. The Curve 8900 is available with a host of operator’s viz. Vodafone, Reliance, Airtel, and also through Redington stores amongst others.
