LG KE970 Shine

The sound quality is decent. It isn’t very loud, but it's clear. The highs overpower the bass, but then it’s not a music phone. It should have had FM though. Clearly the Shine doesn't shine on that score.

The camera is a 2MP one, and is pretty decent too. The colors seem quite bright, and not overexposed. There's a macro mode, which doesn’t always deliver sharp images. It also offers burst modes, and the flash is good enough to be used as a makeshift torch.

The LG Shine is certainly good-looking and even though LG hasn’t got around to perfecting the mirror (it makes you feel as if you're looking at one of the mirrors in a house of mirrors from a distance), it does add up to the overall sleekness of the product. Talktime on a fully charged battery is claimed to be three hours, but tragically we managed to get only a little over an hour.

It may not be a perfect product, but Rs 13,000 is a good price. Things should get even better with a price drop soon. If you want a little shine in your life, do go for it.
