Nokia 6300

Camera
The camera on the 6300 is a 2-mega pixel one, and is, to be honest, quite decent. One thing to note here is that since the screen is quite reflective, using it in broad day light can get quite demanding. It has all the usual settings vis-à-vis sepia, grayscale, false colors etc with timer and night mode. The max resolution that the camera shoots at is 1600x1200.

What I like about this phone is that it allows you to silence the shutter sound and more importantly the option to click up to 3 successive shots (quite common these days, as even the Sagem Bleu series has this to offer). But I don’t see why they have kept the 6300 deprived of a flash. Shooting in the night is impossible, unless you can keep your hand rock steady (I can’t). Also it has no auto-focus. A total downer!

Moving objects will almost always be blurry. When you blow up image on the computer you will find a lot of blurriness, something that doesn’t show up on the phone screen. It has 8x digital zoom, but needless to say, it’s quite worthless. To keep it simple, the camera is good for point-and-shoot purposes, anything more artsy than that and you should consider a better phone. I did, however, had fun with some still shots and by using the different effects. You can record videos at either 128x96 pixels or 176x144 pixels.
