An almost identical replica of the Samsung Grand, WickedLeak has given the Indian market the Wammy Titan. The only difference lies in the larger screen and higher resolution, and definitely some other hardware specifications. Let’s check out the difference and see whether it manages to woo the Indian consumers. ![]() A capacitive stylus bundled along, large 5.5-inch IPS display
Design and build quality The Wammy Titan looks exactly like the Samsung Grand from the front. Encased in an all white and glossy shell with a chrome border, the Titan is 9.9 mm in thickness. The chassis is rugged, but the glossy exterior can be tarnished easily. The front panel bears the large 5.5-inch TFT display with the camera, light and proximity sensors and the earpiece on the top. The bottom has two capacitive buttons for back and menu each with a physical large home button. The rear panel sports the 8MP camera with an LED flash to the right while the bottom half has the speaker. In between is a large logo of WickedLeak and an embossed Android logo. ![]() Looks almost identical to the Samsung Galaxy Grand
The top features a second microphone and the earphone jack while the bottom has the main mic and the micro USB slot. The volume rocker and the power/standby buttons take their place on the left and right sides respectively. The entire phone measures 151.5 mm in height and 81 mm in width while the weight stands at 160 grams. Apart from the basic package contents such as the charger and earphone, bundled along with the Titan is a screen protector, a capacitive stylus and a flip case which is attached with an additional back panel. Overall, the phone looks good on the design front,, with only the large company logo on the rear panel that is a downer. We feel that the manufacturer should try and reduce the size of the logo to make the phone even more appealing. ![]() Slim at 9.9 mm, weighs around 160 g
Features The Wammy Titan is a dual-SIM Android-based smartphone and runs on a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It makes use of the MTK 6577 SOC chipset, which includes the PowerVR SGX 531 graphics unit. The storage on the handset is a total of 1GB, which is shared between the main ROM, apps and user data. This can be extended using a microSD card slot present below the rear panel. The display is a large 5.5-inch qHD TFT with an IPS panel sporting a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The main camera is 8MP while the front facing camera is 2MP. Internet options available are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G. Connectivity options are Bluetooth and a micro USB PC interface. The device is powered by a 2800 mAh battery, which the manufacturer claims to give you around three days of basic usage. Lastly, the handset runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system v4.1.1. the Titan carries a one year warranty and is available for a maximum retail price of Rs 13,000 exclusive of taxes. One can avail the unit for a street price of Rs 12,699. ![]() Dual-SIM, 2800 mAh battery
Performance Testing the Titan using standard benchmarking apps was done as usual. AnTuTu scored 5983, Quadrant scored 2736 while Nenamark2 resulted in 20.4 fps. Lastly, Linpack scored 39.563 MFLOPS in the single thread test and 57.331 in the multi-thread test. Going by the synthetic tests, the Titan scored almost 40 percent lower scores compared to the Samsung Grand, but is almost at par with other dual-core smartphones in the similar budget. ![]() Custom launcher resembling Samsung's Touchwiz UI
The user interface is a custom home launcher that closely replicates Samsung’s Touchwiz on its Galaxy series. The user interface is not very smooth and there is a noticeable jitter to it if you move across screens slowly. Casually, one would swipe around swiftly and this goes unnoticed. Overall, there is not much issue with the user interface. ![]() Under the Titan's hood

The Tech2 Labs receives many products every single week and each of them is tested with the utmost care and highest level of objectivity. There’s a constant effort to reduce and totally eliminate subjectivity. Each product is tested according to set test processes so the same test scenario is used.

Verdict
The ratings awarded to a product are derived from a number of tests and calculations, keeping certain important factors in mind. These factors consist of features, performance, quality and value for money. In case of software and some other categories, build quality might be replaced with ease of use or ease of installation. Products are compared with other products in a similar price range or product category.
Features
The features component of the score is rated based on the kind of features present on a particular product. Features are a big part of what people look for when they’re buying a new product such as a phone or a camera.
Performance
The performance score is derived from the benchmarks and tests run on the product. In case of the subjective scores, an average of the scores given by the group of reviewers is considered.
Build Quality
The build quality of a product is important so that it doesn’t fall apart after some use. The build quality scores from the way the product is designed and the kind of materials used in the product.
Value
Value for money comes from the fact that a cheap product is able to provide most of the performance of a higher priced product. Once again, value for money is judged by comparing pricing and performance of products in a particular price range or category.
There are many other aspects of the product that are looked at such as the bundled software and accessories. All of these scores are aggregated together to form the final score.
What do the ratings mean?
Ratings are simple - higher the score, the better the product. A brief listing of the features and what they mean are given below.
1 - 3
The product is bad in almost every aspect. We strongly advise against purchasing this product.
4 - 6
An average product that isn't the best you can buy, but isn't the worst either.
7 - 8
Product with this rating is highly recommended because it's priced sensibly, has a good set of features and performs well.
9 - 10
Exceptionally excellent product with features and performance unlike any we've seen in the past. A must-have for everyone!

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
