ImTOO MPEG Encoder Ultimate

18 May, 2009, 1:21 pm IST | Francis D'sa |

You can control the video size, bitrate, NTSC/PAL, frame rate, audio codec, and sample rate, etc from the advanced menu and use the bitrate calculator to calculate a particular size or quality of your video before even encoding it. Just like any other respectable video converter, you have the option of monitoring the video on the small screen during encoding.

Encode any video into an upscaled HD format

But you don’t necessarily have to get your hands dirty with the advance settings since different preset profiles are present for various media players in the application’s database. Selecting a profile allows you to further edit the properties to make adjustments to the video or audio quality if you’re that big a control freak. You can create your own profile and save it for later use to avoid hassles of re-adjusting the settings again in future. Additionally, the advanced settings also give you the option of splitting the final output into multiple files for writing on to CD/DVD media.

The preferences section gives you control over the encoders backbone engine. Unlike its previous versions, the latest release has been updated to use multi-core processors to make conversions even faster than ever. Settings that allow you to control the number of cores to be used for the job and even a particular core can be employed for the encoding job. Additionally to this, you can also control the number of simultaneous processes that can be run at a time.

With the ability to convert between almost all types of audio and video formats, ImTOO MPEG Encoder is the best audio conversion and video transcoding tool we have come across so far. The application is optimized for multi-core CPUs and uses all the available cores efficiently. A must-have for audio/video junkies!

Available for $56 USD (Rs. 2,800 approx).

It's quite short and it doesn't have any sort of versus multiplayer but The Darkness II is a polished and brutal shooter you should definitely check out, especially if you like ripping dudes to shreds.
