It was just a little while ago, that we mentioned a few reports of a Nokia Symbian Series 60 SMS bug that was making the rounds. The Bug called ‘Curse of Silence’ is an issue with only this singular OS and UI so far and especially those devices running on versions 2.6, 2.8, 3.0 and 3.1. The only fix that was established was a hard reset. However, in lieu of not downloading and using third party applications developed by software developers, Nokia, according to reports, is in the process of contacting mobile service providers in the effort to simply block specific types of SMS messages. The messages will of course contain the code that started all of this in the first place – text messages with lengthy email addresses. No specific operators names have been revealed and it’s also possible that a firmware update could be in the works to curb the situation. Thanks for trying guys. |
