Performance
The C433 performs extremely well in broad daylight. It gave me some pretty good edge-to-edge sharpness in most of my results, which is more than I can say for other cameras in this range. I did notice a slight blurriness at the corners in a few pictures but that would be unnoticeable, unless you were looking for it.

The colors in the C433 were a lot more sober than what I usually find in Kodak budget cameras. The colors looked lively without too much oversaturation, and the oranges, red and pinks came out pretty well.

But in low-lights, the C433 leaves a bit to be desired. The shot below was taken in low-light with the white-balance set to auto, and as you can see—there was excessive blue throughout the image.

Even the night shot I took below by setting the camera in scene preset doesn’t seem too satisfactory. The camera did capture all the relevant light in the vicinity, but didn’t use it optimally. Still, I’ve seen worse results from cameras that cost thrice as much as this one. I just suggest that in low-light, you stick to portrait shots and rely on the camera flash.

With that said, the C433 is quite slow in its performance. It takes 4 seconds from power-up to the point where it would be ready to shoot, and another 4 seconds for the next consecutive shot.

It also does video at a maximum resolution of 640x480 at 13 frames per second with sound. The quality is pretty usable when viewing slow moving objects or just some people standing and talking, but any kind of fast motion results in some serious frame skipping.

Overall, The C433 performed pretty well for a budget point-and-shoot camera. The results were sharp, the colors were great and the scene modes are aplenty.

Conclusion
At its street price of Rs. 7,000 the Kodak EasyShare C433 has a pretty defined audience—people in the market for a starter-level, point-and-shoot, budget camera. Besides the price and great performance (for its range), there isn’t much that that attract a casual user.

Still, as I said before, the C433 performs really well for a budget camera and most users will find very little to complain about here.
