As I mentioned, the whole game is done in 2D, and that adds to the funky feel of the game. Castle Crashers is not meant to be taken too seriously, and the art style portrays that perfectly. Besides, the art style adds a lot to the humor in the game. This game is made for multiplayer gameplay. Having your friends beating up the enemies at your side is a big boon, especially considering that in single player you'll constantly have enemies taking potshots at you with their arrows for the lack of another target. Having more players means having more hands to take down the bosses during those intense boss fights or just to direct the attack away from you when hordes of enemies enter the scene. Castle Crashers can be played over and over again, not only because of its fun factor and the number of characters you get to play with, but also because there's just so much to explore. You can take separate paths each time you replay the game, so you'll have fresh content to look forward to. On the downside, Castle Crashers is a bit expensive for an Xbox Live Arcade game, at 1200 Microsoft points (around Rs 750). Still, considering the kind of content and the amazing gameplay experience the game delivers, I found it worth the points spent on it. |
