Perfect Dark Zero

To compensate for the above mentioned faults, the game offers players an extremely healthy arsenal in the form of machine guns, snipers, pistols, plasma rifles, SMGs and more, but don’t expect the same sort of wanton destruction as Black or F.E.A.R, because in this game you’ll have to be content with shooting down glasses and the eternally loved exploding barrels.

The game’s levels are well designed and look pretty in high definition, but they are pretty linear, which means you can’t go around playing the game as you feel like. A cool feature implemented in the game is the pulsating blue marker that appears in any level that’ll guide you to your objective, if you feel you’re getting lost. Now this may anger certain FPS veterans who hate this kind of spoon-feeding, but it’s a boon to newcomers, or to all those who aren’t fans of exploring.

If you get bored of the game’s single player campaign (which will happen sooner or later), you can always fire up one the game’s MP modes like Death Match that includes Killcount (FFA), Team Killcount, Capture the Flag and Territorial Gains (team based battle once again where you have to capture all of the territories in a given level). The other MP game mode available is called Dark Ops and it’s pretty similar to Counter Strike, which means it’s tactical and places a higher emphasis on team-based gameplay. If all that doesn’t catch your fancy, you could always play the entire game in co-op with a friend.

While the game may not look as next generation as maybe Lost Planet or Fight Night Round 3, it’s not ugly by any chance and save for a couple of clipping issues and graphical glitches, looks pretty good. In the end, the game may not be all that you’re looking forward too in a launch title, but it’ll still manage to entertain you with its diverse MP modes and sturdy gameplay.
