Turok

Turok is a run-of-the-mill (linear) first person shooter that requires you to move from point A to point B while eliminating anything in your path. However, unlike previous Turok games, you’ll encounter both human as well as non-human enemies in this one. This in turn opens up a whole new dimension to gameplay, since you can now instigate one group of enemies against the other and watch from a safe distance as they wipe each other out. The game also urges you to be stealthy, but thanks to some quirky AI you’ll yourself running and gunning most of the time.

As and when you do get down and dirty with the denizens of that planet you’ll have access to an arsenal comprising standard FPS fare like machines guns (that can be dual wielded), shotguns, pistols, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, a hunting knife and of course, the series' iconic bow and arrow. The longer you keep it taut the more force it'll pierce an object with – so if you manage to hit an enemy while he's in front of a solid surface like a wall or a door, you'll impale him a la Painkiller's stake gun (earning an achievement while you're at it). While enemies (both dinos and humans) can take quite a few bullets, shooting someone with your trusty arrow is generally a one-shot kill, so you may tend to lean on that weapon a lot.

Bow-and-arrow kills are a perfect way to take enemies down stealthily but if it's a more up-close-and-personal affair you desire, Turok's Ramboesque knife will do the job just fine. Sneak up behind an enemy to kill him instantly with your knife, during which the game shifts to a third person perspective allowing you to visually experience Turok’s rage as he stabs that enemy multiple times in highly brutal ways.

It gets even better when dinosaur skulls are on the receiving end of your knife. Yes, you heard right; Turok's such a badass he can stab raptors in the head or just slit their throat as and when they get too close for comfort. Unfortunately this strategy doesn't work too well against the T-Rex who takes at least 5,00,000,000 bullets to kill.
