Windows 7 has been the subject of a lot of discussion, ever since its beta showed up a few months ago. The beta was well received and praised by a lot of people, who found the fledgling OS to be very smooth and fast. Recently Microsoft updated the Beta to RC1 and announced that it plans to ship the OS, on the 23rd of October. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
This is one of Intel’s fastest mainstream dual-core CPUs currently in the market. It comes with a clock-speed of 2.8 GHz, has a 1066 bus-speed, 3 MB L2 cache and is built on the 45nm process. We recommend it very highly for an-entry level machine. Its specifications can be found here. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-S2H Another excellent product from Gigabyte, this board based on the Intel G41 motherboard series offers some serious VFM. It comes with support for all current generation Intel processors, ranging from the 45nm series downwards, FSB support of 1333/1066/800, 4 DDR-2 800 Mhz slots that support up to a total of 8 GB of RAM, a DVI/VGA/HDMI slot, 7.1 Realtek ALC 888 onboard sound chip, a single PCIe slot and support for 8 USB devices. Click here for further specifications. RAM: Kingston DDR2 800 MHz (2 sticks of 2 GB RAM Each) RAM prices have been going further south and it's time to take advantage of this. At least 4 GB of system memory is absolutely vital nowadays with the increased size and requirements of software. Kingston has been making quality RAM sticks for a long time. Now available with a 5-year warranty, it’s perfect for our machine. |
