Challenging everything... and everyone!

Is Black 2 being made? Can you tell us anything about the game? Great question. Black was Criterion's first venture into the First Person Shooter market and in many ways redefined how fast action shooters can be made. The level of deformation was just incredible and exhilarating. It was a phenomenal success for EA and we are intensely proud of Black. At this stage the guys at Criterion are flat out focused on ensuring that Burnout Paradise is the best racer on next generation consoles and I am extremely positive they are achieving that. As to Black 2, who knows what the future holds. Going the free roaming way is a new for the Burnout series. What brought about that change and can you tell us anything about the game? Burnout is a prized franchise for EA. When the guys looked at what to do next with the whole Burnout experience they wanted to put the games player in an open world but crucially maintain that sense of speed and instant feeling of extreme racing and crashing that Burnout is known for. What is great is that Burnout is being built from the ground up for Next Generation consoles therefore, as you would expect, the graphics, physics, AI, sense of speed and adrenalin and audio is outstanding. Restricted by memory constraints on last generation consoles the team feel liberated by the new console power at their disposal and have ensured that the sense of speed is mindblowing, that when a car crashes it spectacularly splinters into bits, accompanied with chilling audio of metal crumpling. Rest assured the guys at Criterion will not let the millions of Burnout fans down Worldwide. In November 2006, an EA executive by the name of Alalin Tuscan felt Gears of War wasn’t "innovative" enough. Do you agree with this statement… if not, do you think this statement puts a lot of pressure on Army of Two? Gears of War was a great game; it was fun to play and the graphics were very strong. But the point made by Alain is that it did not seek to reinvent the genre. Army of Two is looking a phenomenal game and is looking highly innovative in creating true co-op gameplay. I have no doubt that many games players will love Army of Two and its creativity. |
