After part I, it's time to continue or mammoth Action games of 2009 list that goes something like this: Billed as a "shooter gone vertical" Damnation is a third person shooter that’ll take place in an alternate Steampunk universe where the American Civil War never ended. Players will step into the boots of one Captain Hamilton Rourke who along with his faction of ‘rebels with a cause’ called the Peacemakers plan on thwarting the nefarious efforts of an evil tyrant hell bent on overtaking the entire country. From what we’ve seen (via screens and videos) the game looks like Prince of Persia/Assassin’s Creed with guns and making the deal even sweeter will be two player co-op and eight multiplayer modes. The Grand Theft Auto series makes a long awaited comeback to Nintendo’s family friendly handheld console, the DS. The cel shaded game will look and play like GTA II with a top down view but will integrate certain elements from GTA IV as well such as the HUD and the location (Liberty City) where the game takes place. In Chinatown Wars you’ll play as Huang Lee, a member of the Triad syndicate who must avenge the death of his father and recover a family heirloom in the process as well. Not that it surprised anyone since Uncharted was an awesome game but Naughty Dog is busy working on the sequel to Nathan Drake’s adventures and it seems his thirst for adventure has landed him in a bit of a pickle (as the launch trailer suggested). Not much is known of the game as of now except for the fact that it may take place in India, will feature a brand new stealth mechanic as well as a new "free climbing mechanic" – something that’s all the rage nowadays. |
