We take a look at some of the hottest movies in 2009.

We at Tech2 love movies. As you’ve probably seen in the past we’ve spoken about some of our favorite movies and some movies that were so bad, they were actually good (yeah we’re a messed up bunch like that). Today I’m gonna give you the lowdown on some of the movies I’m looking forward to in 2009. Year One Jack Black goes back… I mean way back in time to play a Neanderthal ostracized from his village along with Superbad’s Michael Cera only to witness some of the most awesome events from the Bible. How can that not sound totally awesome? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Get ready for even more slow mo Autobots on Decepticons action as Michael Bay turns it up to 11 with even more “ZOMG Did you see that” epic confrontations? Also, Megan Fox! G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra When you hear the term “A Real American Hero” you’re probably thinking of Jack Bauer right? Me too. Apparently G.I Joe did it all before him and the new flick directed by the man behind The Mummy series will chronicle the Rise of Cobra’s empire. Inglorious Basterds Quentin Tarantino is back after a sabbatical and this time round he’s turned his sights towards the World War II genre where we’ll see a bunch of Jewish American soldiers lead by Brad Pitt brutally slaughtering killing evil Nazis. Sounds a bit like Wolfenstein yes? The Final Destination (3D) You can’t escape the reaper and that ideology has been drilled into our heads via the Final Destination flicks in which a bunch of unlucky people escape death once only to die in a more horrific, yet totally entertaining way. And did I mention, this movie’s gonna be in 3D now? Gamer You’ve heard of Project Natal by now right? Well Gerard Butler’s latest flick actually works on that principle in a twisted sorta way where gamers in the near future control real people who’re fighting for their freedom in a Running Man-esque sort of setting. I pity the fool going up against Leonidas. Sherlock Holmes Guy Ritchie and Robert Downey Jr. working on a movie... together! Nuff said. 2012 According to the ancient Mayan calendar, the Earth will perish in a natural disaster of epic proportions in the year 2012. Or so director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) tells us via his upcoming flick that hopefully should be better than the chick flick that was The Day After Tomorrow. Avatar (3D) James Cameron’s most ambitious sci-fi project till date, Avatar has been in the making for nearly ten years now and will feature special effects, the likes of which we apparently have never seen before. Oh and the movie’s gonna be in 3D. So that about covers my anticipated movies for this year. What kinda stuff are you looking forward to? Leave us your most anticipated movie list in the comments section below. |
