Tech 2.0's favorite TV Shows

Gagan Gupta’s Top Picks

Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot
As a kid, there were just a couple of TV shows that would interest me — Masters of the Universe and this one. While my recent viewing of Masters of the Universe shows went like “What the hell was I on as a kid to like this crap?”,  I thoroughly enjoy the Giant Robot show even today. There was some real imagination put into the show with the kind of monsters that would make an appearance every now and then, to face off against Giant Robot. There was this Hand creature, an evil Giant Robot (my favorite) and even a monster that looks like an eye! Who fights an eye?! The show is timeless.

Lost
How could anyone not like this show? While other dramas get old with the newer seasons (Heroes and Prison Break), this one keeps getting better. The way the writers keep fitting in the back stories, it’s as if you think you’re finally getting the answers, when in fact, there are new twists getting added to the plot. While it pains me to see such long gaps between seasons, the fact that every episode boasts flawless production value is totally worth the wait for me.

Californication
A bad-ass writer unwilling to compromise on his ethics while being a sex addict, makes for a perfect guy show. Even the women on the show think like guys and are willing to forgive any follies that their men make, no matter how bad. I can’t imagine many women liking this show, since it’s all about female objectivity; but that said, this one’s a hell of an entertainer. If my description didn’t give you the gist, this show is totally rated for adults, so don’t let the kids catch you watching that.
