What to Expect in 2009 - Mobile Tech

Here's some mobile technology we in India are looking forward to seeing in the first half of 2009.

Operating Systems Android Powered Handset The G1 is just one singular Android-enabled handset and we can obviously expect plenty more where that came from. At this point, we’re not purely concerned with the handsets but more with what the OS has to offer. The Google Android OS has been something that even managed to push the iPhone to a comfortable second place for a while, so this is definitely something we’re looking forward to putting to the test. Palm Nova OS Palm may not have been too much in the limelight for quite a while now and even switched over to the Windows Mobile OS for a few of their devices, but that doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t have a lot of loyal followers. The latest revelation from the company was the very recent announcement of a brand new OS called Nova. There isn’t too much information provided on the same so let’s just wait and watch. Rumor iPhone Nano The rumor of an iPhone Nano has been making the rounds recently and although we’re a bit skeptical as to why Apple would want to make a smaller version of the handset, we will admit that the idea just may have some merit. It could reduce the price and offer Apple fans (new and old) something new to chew on for a while. Let’s see how this works out. This is what the future of Mobiles looks like at least for the initial half of this year that we're calling the year of ‘Touch-Tech’. Touch screen handsets and interfaces are what it’s all about now, although ruling out the keyboard is something that we are surely not looking forward to, so keep those Touch-Tech handsets coming but the slide out QWERTY would very easily make the technology just a little more convenient, till we see a fool-proof virtual keyboard. |
