If you're using an HTC Desire Android smartphone, let us know what your experience has been.

Calling All HTC Desire Users to Share Their Opinions and Experiences

The HTC Desire may have been only recently launched in India, but a phone like this seemed difficult to keep out of the country before this official unveiling. The Desire has been said to be second only to the Nexus One and of course, that didn’t work out too well, so this baby has all the trimmings of a Grade A handset. However, I’m not done with the review yet.

What I’d like is for you dear readers who happen to be HTC Desire owners already to come forth and share with your experiences with other Tech2 readers. We’d like to know what it was about this handset made you but it and what’s your opinion of it after using it for awhile.Tell us why you think it was a good investment or why you wish it were run over by a setam roller, if that’s your opinion.

Just to give non-users a better idea about the handset – the HTC Desire comes with the following features:
  • a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a 480 800 pixel resolution
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
  • GPS with A-GPS support (Google Maps, HTC Footprints for geotagging pictures)
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0 (micro)
  • 5 megapixel autofocus camera with an LED flash, touch focus
  • 3.5mm earphone and handsfree socket
  • Stereo FM radio
  • MicroSD card support
HTC’s Sense UI is always a handy feature to have in an Android handset and the large display makes it easier to manage not that it was a problem with smaller phones like the Wildfire. For navigating the menus, HTC has also equipped the handset with their optical Trackpad also on the Wildfire and Legend. It features Multitouch for pinch zooming and like any other self-respecting Android phone it’s got quite a bit of social networking functionality with FreindStream, HTC Peep and Plurk as well as integration with your online accounts and your phone book.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor will make this a speedy handset so it can handle all kinds of multi tasking. Android 2.1 is the OS du jour and that will soon be upped to Froyo aka 2.2. It’s also a very light weight handset at just 135g so it’s easy to carry around.

Desire users feel free to leave us your opinions and views on the handset in as much detail as you want in our comments section. Be sure to leave your full name, as I just might use it in the final Tech2 review.

Well? What are you waiting for, potential users are just waiting to know just what issues you’ve had with the handset if any and if it’s worth they hard-earned buck. It's priced at Rs. 28,900 (MRP).
