When the tablets hit the shelves we'll be spoiled for choice. Here are two options, and we'd like to know which would YOU choose.

And so the war begins once again. It was the iPhone against the world for a long time and it was only a matter of time before all of Apple’s portable computing devices were under fire. Since the Apple announced its iPad there have been clones, copies and of course Android has had their say on the matter as well. With that sentiment, although the iPad isn’t here officially, the Olive pad will soon be and if naturally you’ll be spoiled for choice. So here they are, take you pick. Form Factor iPad Weight – 680g, 725g - 3G Model Display – 9.7-inch, capacitive touchscreen, 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, multitouch Connectivity – Proprietary USB/Charging, 3.5mm earphone jack, Micro SIM slot OlivePad Weight – 600g Display – 7-inch, capacitive touchscreen, 800 x 480 pixels, multitouch, Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating Connectivity – Mini USB/Charging, 3.5mm handsfree jack, Standard SIM card slot, MicroSD hot swap slot Interface iPad UI – Proprietary Apple OS and UI, multiple page support, downloadable apps and games via AppStore, accelerometer, graphics accelerator Media transfer – via proprietary software (iTunes 9.1 +) Hardware – 1GHz Apple A4 custom-designed processor, Light sensor OlivePad UI – Android 2.1, multiple page support, downloadable apps and games Android Market, accelerometer, Media transfer – No software necessary, compatible with Windows Media Player for media transfer, drag and drop media playback. Let’s not forget the super fluid operating system. But with the lack of standard USB connectivity or a built-in camera for video calling and in this case not being able to make voice calls, the Olive Pad tends to be a little ahead in the race. The Android OS is also highly customizable but the iPad does offer a much large clearer display, better response time and a much better gaming solution. It’s really tough choice, but in the end the OlivePad does just slip ahead simply because you’ll never be with a connection as long as there’s even 2.5G connectivity available, plus there’s the addition of a camera and standardized modes of connectivity at your disposal. Based on the parameters listed and the information provided we’d like to know, if you had a choice would you buy an iPad or opt for the OlivePad? Do let us know why as well.
