Let's check out five new Web 2.0 applications that promise a host of new features.

Five Hot Web 2.0 Apps

Thisisby.us
A website for all budding novelists and poets who can't (and never will) blog, for one reason or another. TIBU allows you to post longer length fiction, non-fiction and poetry, into a vibrant community that will read and comment on anything. The website purportedly passes on a share of the ad revenue to you, but my balance after six months of admittedly infrequent posting is a grand $0.28.

Still, the concept is good, and if you do happen to become more popular than me (*sniff*), the bucks will flow like molasses. Worst case, Long Tail says you will find at least two readers, one of whom will be your mom. Better to be published than not at all, say I. After all, not all of us are qualified to write for Tech2, are we?
