The scroll wheel near the viewfinder is called a diopter and it's for adjusting the internal magnification of the viewfinder. Basically, it is used for each person to adjust it according to their eyes. If you are short sighted or far sighted, you can use that wheel to adjust the sharpness of your chrosshair/viewfinder info display and basically, what you're looking at through the viewfinder. from FrikZz0r
