Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 Does it run Skyrim? [Read Desc.]
04/06/12 - I can't believe this one got over 6,000 views. Wow.
tl;dr -
This is the Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 performing Skyrim with the NVidia GT520M graphic card.
Actual performance is better since I am recording with Fraps which captures microphone and does some scaling.
I only know about Skyrim. I haven't really tested any other games yet. I just thought it's fun to pressure the machine with the insane demands of Bethesda's latest.
Longer version
I bought a new laptop recently - a Lenovo IdeaPad 570. The specs are pretty massive Intel Core i3, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HD, Intel HD Graphics, NVIDIA GT 520M with 1GB RAM GPU. That's just a quick basic spec-sheet.
It is possible to switch graphics at will (Sandybridge technology - there's a switch at the front of the machine to enable or disable the NVIDIA card), so I piped Skyrim into the NVIDIA card to see how it does. You need to install the current NVIDIA driver which then allows you to define which applications run on which graphic chip.
It's a laptop. And for that, it's still pretty incredible performance. Especially with Skyrim.
The machine is 579 Euro in PC World.
