Lenovo X220 Laptop First impressions
First impressions of this laptop from unboxing to setting up. I compare the IPS screen to TN, as well as it's size against other laptops. And the ports, the all important ports!
An Ultraportable laptop which is barely larger than a netbook and with a tradtional processor for more speed, the one unboxed here is an i7 2620M , 4Gig Ram, 320gig 7200Rpm hard drive, no msata drive and the 6 Cell Battery.
Other points not mentioned in the first impressions
The trackpoint is the red thing in the middle of the laptop, and works as a pointer. Very precise compared to the trackpad, It's up to personal preference on if you like it. So far I'm loving it.
The graphics mentioned in the review are actually only the integrated ones, and not discrete. This is partly why it still has a great battery life for this form factor. The graphics processor is the same as all other second generation sandybridge ones, being the Intel HD 3000. Leagues ahead of the poor GMA series, this is a gpu that besides gaming will serve you very well.
.. Although I didn't mention the fingerprint reader, it could have saved me once already - I had opted to not set it up straight away, and put a big password for logging in. Of course, as soon as I reset... I forgot the password! Down goes some time clearing the password in order to keep trying it.
